Botanical Garden of Russian State University of Immanuel Kant is situated on the territory of the former Königsberg urban horticulture based Keber Paul, Professor, Head of the Department of Higher Plant Systematics and Königsberg University. Horticulture was founded in 1904 in one of the most beautiful areas of the city — Maraunengof — as a base for practical training of students.
After the Second World War, Botanic Garden is managed by different organizations, and in 1967 transferred to Kaliningrad State University. Currently, it is a scientific unit of the department of botany and plant ecology of the Russian State University of Immanuel Kant, a training base for students.
There are: conservatories, greenhouses, a pond, a nursery of trees, collection of herbaceous and woody parts of plants. Every year in the garden are over 200 reviews and thematic tours. Botanic Garden has business contacts with 200 gardens all over the world.
