What is 72-hour express visa?

On January 1, 2017, the MFA of Russia cancelled the experiment in issuing short-term tourist visas "Tourism 72 Hours" to foreign and stateless citizens in the Kaliningrad Region.
Issues of simplified visa procedure for foreign citizens entering the Kaliningrad Region are to be settled by the Federal Law "On the Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad Region". Draft amendments to the law aforementioned have been elaborated by Russian Ministry of Economic Development by the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation. The MFA of Russia has given the proper recommendation thereon.
All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas to travel in the Russian Federation.
Citizens of countries subject to the Shengen Agreement, UK and Japan, could receive a 72 hour visa to Kaliningrad. The visa is valid for no longer than 4 days and 3 nights.
To get the visa you need to provide the following:
  • Clear scanned passport copy
  • Working adress, name of the company, position & phone number
  • Home adress & phone number
  • Hotel reservation
You must send it by email at least 10 days before your arrival in Kaliningrad.
On arrival must have a 3×4 cm (1.18×1.57 inches) color photo.
You must arrive on weekdays during operating times 09:00–18:00.

You can get 72-hours visa only at 3 points:
Mamonovo-Branevo, Bagrationovsk or an airport*.
*In a case of arrival by plane you should pay for the transport for the officier of the MFA to the airport. The price is €60.

The 72-hour visa is given to citizens of UK, Japan and Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sloveni, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Liechtenstein). This visa is valid only for Kaliningrad region.
The best way is by bus #802 from Gdansk at 6.30 or 15.00.
Important! Ecolines bus not passes through Mamonovo-Braniewo border, this bus is not suitable for obtaining a visa!

We can offer transfer from Gdansk (Airport) to Kaliningrad (Hotel) by car.
To apply for the 72-hour visa we need the following:
  1. scan copy of your passport (you must have at least 3 months left before your passport expires)
  2. working address, name of the company, position, phone number
  3. home address, phone number
  4. hotel reservation (a copy)
  5. on arrival to the border you have to hand in a 3*4 cm color photo
The visa costs 70 Euro per person. The visa is made only after the payment has been confirmed.

After we receive your documents, we'll send you the account number for the payment. It takes 4-5 days to make the visa starting from the moment we have all the documents and payment on hand.

Bank transfer fees are at your expense. European banks often split the fee between the sender and the recipient, thus, we don't receive the whole payment. Please, make sure when you make the payment, that you take the fee fully to your expense.

If you don't have much time left you can pay via Western Union or PayPal as a bank transfer takes 3-4 days.

Crossing the border
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs prepairs the 72-hour visa and the MFA officer delivers it to the border.

We need to know the place where you'll be crossing the border (Mamonovo-Branevo, Bagrationovsk-Bezledy or an Khrabrovo airport), your transport info and the exact date and time of your arrival. If you arrive by car/motorcycle we need to know its type and number.

You can enter only workdays from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm.
The best way is by bus #802 from Gdansk at 6.30. The recommended time for your arrival is before 4 pm.

You can't take a flight from Minsk, Belarus, you can arrive only from the Schengen countries.

The transport for the officer of the Ministry to/from the airport should be paid for by the client. The price to the airport is 60 Euro.
Leaving Kaliningrad region
You can leave Kaliningrad region through any border checkpoint.
For children
The MFA doesn't provide the 72-hour visas for children.
